PokeSnap ("we", "our", "us") operates the PokeSnap mobile application and website (pokesnap.app). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and encrypted password.

Collection Data: Card collection data you create, including scanned cards, conditions, grades, and notes.

Camera Data: When you use the card scanner, images are processed on-device for card recognition. Card images are not stored on our servers unless you explicitly upload them.

Usage Data: We collect usage statistics such as scan counts, feature usage, app performance metrics, and limited website analytics including the page URL, referring page, and browser viewport size.

Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for push notifications.

Advertising Attribution Data: Meta and TikTok may receive limited app events and device or app information solely to measure and attribute PokeSnap advertising campaigns. Relevant events may include an app install, onboarding completion, registration, or subscription conversion. PokeSnap does not currently collect Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA). Any future IDFA collection would require your explicit permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain the PokeSnap service
  • Process card scans and provide pricing information
  • Manage your card collections and portfolio
  • Send price alerts and notifications you've opted into
  • Process subscription payments through Apple's App Store or Stripe
  • Improve our card recognition accuracy and service quality
  • Measure which PokeSnap advertising campaigns lead to installs and subscriptions
  • Send service-related communications (account verification, security alerts)

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Payment processors: Apple (App Store) and Stripe for subscription management
  • RevenueCat: For subscription status synchronization
  • Analytics providers: Metricool receives limited website usage data, including page URL, referring page, and browser viewport size, so we can understand website traffic and improve the service.
  • Advertising measurement providers: Meta and TikTok receive limited attribution and conversion-event data solely to measure and attribute PokeSnap campaign performance. We do not use these SDKs to show third-party ads inside PokeSnap, and PokeSnap does not currently collect Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA).
  • Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), hashed passwords (bcrypt), and secure cloud infrastructure. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and collection data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and user-linked data in the app under Settings > Account > Delete account and data, or follow our Data Deletion Instructions.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your collection data (CSV export available for Pro users)
  • Opt out of marketing communications

8. Children's Privacy

PokeSnap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

9. Third-Party Links

Our service may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., TCGPlayer, CardMarket). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
